What is a Psychoeducational Evaluation?

Psychoeducational evaluations provide comprehensive insight into a student's cognitive abilities; academic achievement (e.g., reading, writing, and math); social-emotional functioning; and behavioral functioning. They utilize standardized tests and rating scales (e.g., parent, teacher, and self-report), clinical interviews, record reviews, and consultation with relevant providers as needed. The results outline the student's learning profile, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. The comprehensive report includes any relevant diagnoses and tailored recommendations.
